Tinnitus -didnt know it's called this

It's been like 20 years + i think to some sort of degree we all sometimes do hear this 'ringing in th ears'.

Sometimes it goes away. I guess it's mild if it's just there and annoying sometimes.

Tinnitus is the term for hearing sounds that come from inside your body, rather than from an outside source. It's often described as "ringing in the ears", although several sounds can be heard, including: buzzing. humming

2020 Review: Almost ending of year of Covid19

Realized i've been on another year of hiatus. Since Apr the post was done while in the very first lockdown in M-land. 3 months later we went back to work , business as usual. Then the case got worse and we went back to conditional lockdown , work from home.

Not an easy year.

One whole year of hard laboring at Tx project, only to be a sacrificial scapegoat.*it's interesting to view from outside how this crap works. everyone just talk and waiting for the g0at to do all the task :X

Let's do a yearly review and status update:

  • Moving into Q3 , got thrown into a Cloud project, lots of ups and downs. So occupied with new work learning curve, adapation. Last week Friday the whole thing sort of wrapped up. So now is the cool down period and catch up time for me to review the year changes.

  • Career: i think got another 2-3 safe years left in OK zone. There is still like a last straw kind of thing in my position ..since im in a global resource ...so thats like the last resort. Pondering if lecturing is the good path for me to go down into..need to really think about it. Pros Cons, feasilibity of getting there, benefits in long run.
  • Jumped out from a toxic work group. Entered a new playground, learning the ropes.. future unsure at the moment but not as bleak and guttered as previously. Hopeful not to be sent there. Buddy at other group got promoted (good news, hope it changes some game later on)

  • Holiday: Had a family travel with wifey and family to Japan. It's a great experience, totally worth it. Repercussion lashed at work place like 3 months later on my review. -yes, you got bad grades cause you took leave (wtfish_ =.=). Timing is actually quite good, since it happened right before total lockdown, now nobody can fly (poor airasia).

  • Ported from cheap UM to Maxis post paid. My goal is to get into prepaid line... now its a RM35 line, +RM5 for unlimited hotspot ..wtf is this deal. with Postpaid RM60 hotlink and special data im still burning thru RM10 -10Gb easily.. Maxis line is much more stable than UM , but still abit weak at home. Can it be related to hotspot and multiple tethering of more than 2 devices ?

  • Dropped broadband plan in Jun/July. Saving each month RM9x .. paid like RM30 monthly for extra data due to WFM. so still a win to me.

  • Burned out the laptop i converted. the kiddies are very destructive :( ...

  • Health: Took up exercising regularly again 3 months ago during MCO . Annual health check all ok - except for fatty liver (again) and hi cholesterol (again) .. wat the heck... i think i need to turn like 50% vegetarian to achieve this crazy level of 'healthy'. Still being asked to lose weight more (ok challenge accepted ). May consider a different hospital to get a 2nd opinion. I felt the healthiest these few weeks in the past years (been doing jogs like typically 4-5 times a week).

  • Investment - thinking of stock trading. much to learn. (see below)
  • Fun time - missed POE alot, didn't really have much time for it. but its such a good old time.

Now:

Having abit more spare time now, looking into serious study of stock watching. Eventually need to try and get burn (hopefully not much).

Tried hello gold - not really rewarding.

Tried stashaway - soso,  abit boring (3% yield in 3 months not bad_

First step done: open a CDS nominee account with RakutenTrade

Now another first: looking for opportunity to do first trade/buy . current market is a scary volatile place, due to the pandemic, so let's see first.

I like lowyat forum, lots of reading can be done there.

KLSE screener is my goto place now, as a watcher.

I like this analogy, hunter and farmer. The best is to get hybrid profile as a balanced investor kan2.. since FD rate really sucks at this moment .. 1.9 - 2% ...hmm...

Noob learning links; read the intro at Rakuten it's pretty layman.

BBW/bxcess intervw

The call came 2 days ago, asking me to attend in a very causal way. No emails invite or anything.
Came in talked a little on experience, and as i guessed its project executive for event management. They are quite a straight forward start up, and running full blast with expansion, however there are some issues. Some positive points, the PM guy commented that my resume is impressive the other project lady said i got zero event management experience which i agreed with. Kind of pass the interview, but failed at pay check stage, PM dude's comment is 'do you want to waste your talent here' . LOL. Was offered a  basic pay that i had 7 yrs ago + allowance rm160 per day on overeas event duty. average event lasts about 14 days per trip, project shift is ~12hr or more (well kind of expected). pretty awesome - i will pass the offer ...rather be an expensive dog than a cheap dog right?  is this one another awesome in beginning but local chinaman-style-monster brewing in making?

Hence the saga of my dog-cheap labor life @ H* continues on.

*a remark i saw online recently is either this; survive, wait till 5G starts. or 5G wihtout H* is like playing rugby w/o NZ. Kind of true.. but how long i can endure and survive. only god knows.

It's another year and i came back here. Only had 2 entry last year, still with the crazy company, had a crazy schedule. 2 lil ones growing fast..

What we did in New Year day, its off on Tuesday.

Finally weaning off SW ? This is the latest craze that keeps me sane from all the overworking and long hours over the year end craze at work.

Just noticed i didn't even manage to blog about Beryl sales in 2018. Was looking forward to 2019 sales. Time to check out of the blog post again.

Light layout design for SS draft 1 & ramblings about choosing

Let's see if GF plaster board can proceed. Then we can use downlight designs for a brighter living room as draft below.

Keep the other rooms standard 1x cool white LED + 1x warm LED. Betting on developer's original layout should be sufficient despite what the reno contractor recommends as alternative overlapping LED placements on more points using weaker watt lights.

Below is shopping list for round 2 trip, hopefully last trip to the lighting shop.

A friend's hubby who is eletrical guy as his main job advises to go for 840 type LED, which is 4000 (K) warmth which is more gentler to our eyes. Try not to go for 830 LED , 3000 (K) as its more yellow.

830 = warm white, 840 = day light.

Quick googling for LED color temperature chart probably can help here.

LED light price scale with its Watt output. My take should be it's the intensity or how strong the light is. So if bigger space can opt for more lights or pick at least 18W to 25W LED. Those downlight type comes with it's driver part, so any damage happen to it we just replace the whole unit.

Another cheaper type is the downlight cone type. We screw normal E27 LED bulbs or incandescent bulbs if you feeling so old school to the holder. Bulb got blowed out, you buy new bulb any DIY replace yourself like a boss, easy as how kiddos replace caps of their coke bottle. The downside is it looks very old fashioned, else i would practically go for this type.

Oh right, the shopping list, below is the draft if everything goes according to plan.

6 pc from Car porch, gate lamp and staircase area.- need to snap photo for actual location of staircase again.

20 pcs from Balconies, bathrooms and bedrooms

11 pcs from kitchen area, living room, prayer table, store room and utility room.

Below are some idea for tiles grabbed from pinterest.

Balcony idea 1 - same size, different shade of colors

Kitchen /utility room idea 1 - 4 colors group into diamond shaped arrangnment. 2x white, 1x grey, 1x black.

Kitchen wall idea 2-  mosaic effect.

Kitchen idea 3- abit tricky since already have existing lower part such as above and need match. If wrongly match, the atmosphere it projects is kind of uh...toiletry? Current lower portion of tiles is a 1x1 feet light orange/beige color. So am thinking to go with subway/brick style laying for tile of similar shade color but maybe larger pieces.
