Hong Seng Roast Chicken/Roast/BBQ pork rice

picture via googlemap

Pleasant surprise that we visited one of my favorite chicken/pork rice stall in PJ Sek17. It's been almost 1 year + since my last visit there & still the place retains it's crowd during lunch time & more importantly great taste of roast chicken/char siew and siew yuk.

We went through a series of taman road from office so can't really tell until we are almost smack in front of the place that we are having lunch at this place heehe.

Thanks for the good meal.

RM8 including the ham choi soup. Nothing special about the soup, take note if you like spicy to get another extra chili condiment which goes really well with the dish here.

Naughty Nuri's @ Atria Mall

We had an opportunity to feast at NN's, which I heard quite many times for being famous with oink (pork) dishes.

GPS location:3.127175,101.6143953,17

Obvious landmark is the Atria shopping mall, where getting a carpark lot is quite tricky even on the weekday we went.

NN's bar & the piggie wheel of fortune

See the flying pig up there

Most piggy themed restaurant i been to so far.

inside 2

More piggy decorations; okay enough of showing around. Moving on to food - menu can be viewed at your pleasure here.

Indo style mee goreng

Seafood awesomeness

Naughty Crispy Belly

Balinese Crispy Cumi-cumi

Ayam on Ow-someness- portion alittle small not enough to get a tastet LOL

Nachos, satay lilit, Pork sald & NN's signature BBQ spare rib.

Nachos is good, with a good porky dipping. Signature ribs really fall off the bones, superb while still hot but a little on sweeter side from it's sauce to me personally.

Another shot of the satay lilit, the sauce is a spicy mix concoction

Pork salad

More piggy to end the day with.

Total damage here is bout RM600+

With purchase of RM150 we get a spin at the piggy wheel of fortune for a voucher of different sorts of goodie. This time it's for a pint of Stout beer. Overall it's slightly on more expensive side to fork out for a 9 person meal - comparatively to my latest visit to Uncle Don's.

Uncle Don's @ SS2 PJ

On the way to wifey's friend's place somewhere near Puncak Damansara we stopped by for this place where you can get nice, cheap & affordable (read peng leng cheng) western style food including pork chops etc. This is a non-halal restaurant cum pub as it also serve what i think is rather less pricey beer & alcohol drinks if you are up to it. Anyway we are there for lunch sets which comes with 1 main dish, 1 glass of iced lemon tea & one scoop of ice-cream as your finisher.

GPS location: 3.117003,101.6207253

This place is opposite the bridal shops in SS2, quite hard to miss actually being at same row as police station & SS2 Durian buffet. Anyway with waze/googlemap being around you get to places damn easily nowadays.

Another reason to get over on weekends - no parking fees needed hahaha

Set#1 Healthy portion of vegetarian spaghetti carbonara - taste-wise quite good but still lose out slightly to Susan's bistro.

Set #2 ,12" Chef's pizza. This is the boss dish here. Big portion and great taste, goes superbly well with the tabasco. Thumbs up for the pizza here.

Set#3 Pork chop with sides. Pork chop is not so bad, pretty well marinated & soft yet not chewy.

Dessert of ice cream- flavors available are strawberry, vanilla & chocolate. Well, sometimes it's 1 & 1/2 scoop we get ya. By now we are pretty stuffed up.

Great thing is our bill only comes up to RM40.70. Pretty awesome for the environment, food quality & portion we get. So yes, when we want to get some good bite or some good fun of drinking session with buddies/friends this is the place to be, but be-warned that it can get quite crowded at times.

Kaki Bola XO Fish Head Noodle shop @ Bandar Mahkota Cheras

This is a new branch from the original Taman Segar that someone shared in lowyat forum before previously. We decided to drop by and give it a try since it's conveniently relocated to our neighbourhood.

GPS location: 3.0523805,101.7886603,20

Not found on googlemap, it's right beside this shop shown above.
On the row opposite the big park in Mahkota Cheras shoplot area, same row as the pharmacy.

Clear soup version. Portion is quite good, but price wise slightly higher than it's rival in vicinity of shoplots here @ ~RM 12-15 per bowl.

With milk version. We tried the tomyam soup fish head too, very spicy actually even more spicy than the soup from Ken & Shirley's @ Serdang/Seri Kembangan area. So whether it's good depends on your tolerance to spiciness.

Overall this is very good place to get good fish head mee hoon. The soup has good homey taste with less MSG flavoring, so you don't get really thirsty after the meal. And it's perfect for non-fuss eating. Dish is served with either fish head/meat/paste +  mee hun or lai see fun (laksa noodle) and pieces of tomatoes and salted vegetable. Just simple neat & nice. The cook really perfected crunchy fried fish, even with only tong sang fish, so thumbs up for this and definitely our choice to come back for more.
