Pizza San Francisco @ The Mines shopping mall

This restaurant is no stranger to most, having so many branches all over KL and Klang Valley areas. We drop by the Mines branch after receiving the RM10 voucher from sis in law to try out the food here.

GPS location: 3.0278994,101.7162

Good honest food for all...honest? hmm..

Some free stuff going on. didn't try it though haha.

At L1 inside Mines where you see the river running through the ground floor (or L1)

Yes we will.

Salmon spaghetti. The sauce is thick & quite good, but i find the salmon not that fresh. Susan's bistro still better in comparison for the spaghetti department.

San Pizza. The special dish here i guess. Topped with green chili slices, and looks like a giant karipap.

See the thickness on the middle slice. Lots of cheese, and turkey ham inside. Not sure why they called it turkey salami though. Taste is quite good and comes with dipping sauce that's a lot like tomato salsa/spaghetti topping. The crust are quite crunchy, quite worth to try and decide whether it suites your taste buds. The pizza can serve 3 person and after sharing the salmon spaghetti, we are stuffed at the end.

Dessert - creme brulee. Quite good and on par in terms of the caramel crust, creaminess actually, but again Susan's get an edge with their additional ice cream top that adds a special sweet taste to their dessrt.

Total damage for this round plus we get another RM10 voucher for our next visit within 2-3 months time. So the cycle continues with the voucher-visit-voucher-visit.

Lake Valley BTHO, Little Giraffe club event at the park

Last weekend my wife told me about this book club event at Lake Valley. So we went over to Lake Valley that's like 10min drive from Mahkota Cheras. Turns out its a kindie club's event, but open to public. Quite a good idea to have it by Lake Valley park. Plenty of parking & guard will shoo you out by 7 or 7.30 pm.

GPS Location: 3.0452118,101.7591661

The put up little stools & some mats in picnic fashion. Yeap, book reading picnic by lakeside.

Pretty cool actually, and salute the kindie teachers from Harmoni Kindie supporting this event & reading to all kids that drop by.

Books are placed in crates and free to browse. But not free to take home la hahaha

Beside it is a playground..so guess what's next LOL

And unfenced lakeside with giant catfish and kois. Just watch the kids yo.

Pretty big playground slides to keep kiddie occupied. This a good place for a run, will try it out someday. Not sure when is the next event but i think if interested can google up the Little Giraffe Clud or Harmoni Kindie near Cheras and you should find something. Ciao.

pilot run#2: DIY peanut butter -Mission accomplished!

This is a more successful attempt. Can get a real creamy jam.Same recipe, sun dry the peanuts, toast it using the breadmaker Joyoung or fry using pan. I measured by the bottle & ended up with about half bottle of jam.

Blend by batch, add 1 small teaspoon of vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar & 1 small chunk of SCS butter. My first attempt is similar, just a trial & error try - refer to it here.

Side view.

2nd attempt is more successful. Mission accomplished, keep it refrigerated and i think should finish within 4-5 days. Now this is proven off-the-shelf quality peanut butter that you can DIY. Of course you can just grab off the shelf version, not too expensive, but you won't know what you are gobbling down together with your supposedly peanut butter rite?

A Walk in Kowloon Park @ Tsim Tsa Tsui, Hong Kong

This park is really near the vicinity of Nathan Road, all the more reason to pay it a visit.

GPS location: 22.3003719,114.167956

Walking along Nathan Rd, the entrance after this shoplot is the one we used to enter the park.

Lego style cartoon characters greet us at the staircase.

Avenue of Comic Stars is part of the park. But we are not familiar with HK comic/cartoon characters. Just for fun yo.

Here is the sign

HK version of One piece?

Hmm..panda i guess.

Ahh.. this is the Stormriders.

Behind this wall is actually a mini water park. Pretty cool.

Keep walking along the walls.

Thru some park buildings. It's pretty common to see some non-local Asian people having picnics in the park.

Taichi seems like a favorite thing to do here.

A pond in the middle.

With tortoises.

Flowers everywhere as usual.

This is sort of like a maze. See can barely find a person standing in the midst of all the greens.

Some sculptures that i can't make out what it is.

Go up an there is an aviary for birds.

Typical past time for HKier - playing chess or taichi.

Heading down back, you can see the water park opposite this place.

There is also a section where you can find a totem-pole.

A closer look.

Look at the roots.

another more deserted area of the park where you can find the west battery.

Looking out at west i reckon.

Opposite i suppose is a mock castle. Nothing inside except stairs and no worthy to mentioned view to see from the top of it. Lots of mosquitoes or bugs here yes.

So this is where the pool entrance is.

Exited thru here.

Another entrance/exit gate.

Finally back to Nathan Rd.
