New misi : tacoland flight oh my

On transit now at Haneda. Arrived at 11pm+ which is just right at airport shuttle closing time .with 2 luggages in tow, not going to risk taking train.

Current flight route :

915am klia - 5 hours

Kl-haneda - 7 hours

10+pm haneda. Check-out baggage.. Can transit to narita at same night- NOPE.

Narita-mex city 22 hrs flight @@

Reach Mex city, 3.5hours car ride to Queretaro (company car booked)..

Gonna a humongous jetlag incoming.

Went down 1F and found its the shuttle bus departure floor i think. anyway bus counter ticket opens 9am to 6pm at Haneda T3 , so don't need bother to go up again. Just book online and chill at the charging area beside toilet. The only issue is going off to toilet and mobility with 2 luggage and one laptop backpack in tow. Security issues and solo moving is quite an issue (if want to be at safest than sorry mode).

1 hours earlier timezone difference from Malaysia it's 1.35am. another 4.5 hours to go , this is doable with D2R just starting. farm or level kill whatever time :)

**update: Stop 5 is indeed at GF, but it need to be accessed from arrival 1F , walk across past the Bus Counter and go down to other side of GF to reach.

Employee work life at Khmer land (Phnom Penh)

Swapped mainly to youtube shorts due to easier access via handphone and also by short video recordings.

Life is pretty convenient. Stay is <5min walk to office, with kitchen. Meal voucher can be used anytime of the day = lunch is covered. Only need to work on breakfast - oat / soy /calsome with fruits + simple dinner. Prep meals makes things even more easier.

So far covered , Preah Sisowach Quay - walk along the Tonle Sap river side. Walked all over Phnom Penh within 2-3 km radius. First place, pass by Phnom Wat, go down along the road down to Royal palace, Musuem i think and Wat ounalom , Silver Pagoda and back with sun burn. Surveyed around markets in the area, Lucky supermarkets, Aeon Maxvalue , Chip Mong and Bayon market all in vicinity to replenish cooking groceries.

Unit with attached kitchen makes things easy for cooking, was worried about hotel with no kitchen. Only less favorable thing is no washer in room , but hotel got me covered with 30pcs free washing per week. So what's left.. work , dealing with OTBs and finding way to hold on for next 6 months hopefully.

Never short of food and plenty to get from road side at cheap too. Exercise daily, gym and IG routines, swimming on weekends where weather permits. Was trying to get to Douglas Hope cruise ship , but yesterday told unfortunately it is now at Vietnam for next 3 months. Pass by on way back to street art alongside the municipal buildings street. Its sort of a cul de sac , very quiet and calm place compared to standard hustle bustle of phnom phen streets.

Next may try to get to National Library on one of those public holidays. The library oddly closes on weekends , so can't try to attempt and get in there. Probably running out of things to do soon.

Been to Central market (obviously) , Orussey market , Old market and Phsar Kandal. Very similar wet market and indoor market scenes in Asian setting. Not sure how cheap things can be, since i dont need to buy any of these , not yet at the moment. Next is to study and plan out on Siem Reap/Angkor wat trip :)

Legenda Boutique Hotel , Johor Bkt Indah

Here is entry #2 of work travel down South. In a rush to book hotel, i just do a quick pick.

source from Legenda site

When i reached , did a walk around abit at this area. Pretty empty on weekdays, there are alot of supermarket around. Giant is no longer right infront of Legenda, it became TF hyper mart since Apr 2019.

Booked a queen bed room for RM120, upon check in had to deposit RM50. Pretty standard. Room is just a simple bed with a table + chair and 2 bed mini table. Arrangement is pretty compact but good enough, so it's really a square box in simplicity. The place managed to squeeze the closet with a mini fridge that seems to work.

Wifi is strong and available on each floor (psswd: legenda123). Air con is pretty cold due to the small size of room and bed looks clean enough . The toilet pass in my book , clean no frills, had a rainwater style shower and surprisingly toiletries that includes toothbrush/paste set.

There is also TV above the table where, 2 bottled water is available i assume FOC with a jug kettle.

Overall is ok place, but a little far to walk to Tesco/Aeon area which is opposite the 2 laned street. Nothing too special, why i picked here? Cause its near enough to the park :) Looking at things around this sleepy community, my next target might be Geos Hotel , then thing probably will wrap up after that.

D Elegance Hotel ,Gelang Patah Johor

So my latest rollercoaster of project office saga continues, with my latest move to the big C account.
Work now requires alot of travel. So maybe i can start looking reviewing hotels if this continues on.

D elegance is sort of a no frills hotel. No pool , no gym and no bf/meals bar watsoever. It is surrounded by alot of amenities however, alot of food and mamak stall just around the corner. Opposite the road is Maybank, hardware shop etc...so pretty convenient.

Upon check in , you can request a voucher with reception for a cup of free coffee at the cafe next door.

Room is clean and comes with free 2 bottles of mineral water. Couldn't complain much, but the bathroom is in need of maintenance for the room i had, small leak in the bidet pipe and slight malfunction on the flush button.

One thing to take note: no toothbrush and paste is provided which seems to be norm in Malaysia.

Lol the only photo i've taken. The trip was rushed we reached hotel almost midnight, talked of some project handover stuff all the way from KL to JB. Next day site survey started till almost evening. So yea, next one should be a lot better i hope :P

Here is one courtesy of agoda, i use it for now. Not sure if any is better since i dont travel much all this while.

Link to it.

KL to Bangkok -business trip (solo survival journey)

It's been a while since i travelled solo for business. This time to Bangkok via Malaysia Airline.

Murtabak Ayam..just soso. Maybe nasi lemak is better. Met a dude working for Google, pretty young guy, but didn't manage to get his contacts to keep in touch. Well anyway.

Get a new SIM +data. For DTAC it's 299 for unlimited data, valid for 7 days. Cause of the long queue, probably the best I guess, and didn't disappoint.

Machine is coin operated, or queue at counter. This one is outside baggage collection, there are a few smaller stalls. Other choices is True Move and AIS. I saw somewhere AIS gave like 4G unlimited data , valid for 7 days @ 299 baht too.

As soon as I get data, I can call for Grab..It's fixed 500 baht + 75 baht toll fee. This fee is not included in his receipt unfortunately. :( So I kind of got cheated 50baht off my claim, only get the 25 baht toll receipt.

Journey took almost 1hour +, pretty jammed and the taxi driver said a little (niynoi?)

Kelana Jaya Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia

Been a long 5 years since i come back for 'fun' session of renewing passport at Jabatan Imigresen. Actually should have chosen UTC which is very fast service and opens till night and Saturdays as well if not mistaken.

Steps to renew pretty simple:

a) Take your number, you need to present current passport + IC and fill up below simple form.
b) Wait, wait wait.......and wait , wait , wait .....get to counter. Officer validates your info/document and then snaps current photo
c) Take back number slip, wait for payment counter, wait and wait ...wait then pay up.
d) Get your collection slip & collect new passport after 1 hour wait.

9+ in morning, take number. RM200 for 5 years. Toddlers and old folks get a special express counter.

Oh boy, this gonna take a while..Suddenly system down 'maaf tergendala'. Heads back to office, comes back at ~11am, numbers still running and resume my wait.

At ~1.45pm finally makes my payment and got my slip. Managed to slip in a quick lunch before i come back to grind some 'Castle growth' while waiting for time to tick all this while for my turn. What fun waiting was 5 years ago without smartphone 😐

Goes back to office to resume duty, come back at 3.30pm and finally managed to collect my old + new passport. Collection desk got no numbering system, just hand my slip & ask if it's ready. Wait for ~20min+ and yay finally i'm finished with this fun 😐 experience.

Tien Hou Kong Temple @ Chiwan, ShenZhen

Since we are heading to splendid china on this day, we thought that it will be fun to drop by Tien Hou temple @ Chiwan station along the same Line 2 MRT of Shenzhen.

GPS location: 22.479419,113.892031

Directions: using MRT go towards Chiwan direction on Line 2 (orange). Can't miss it since it's the last line & the station you are heading to is Chiwan itself. Exit gate C and turn right after going out the station. Walk about 5 mins, go up the staircase on your left , keep walking for about < 10 min and you will find the temple on your left. There is signboard pointing you towards the direction when you are close enough.

Edited from phone. Can do so much nowadays on mobile.

From Laojie to Chiwan, good 45 min shaking on the MRT. Just kidding, only in Malaysia the LRT screech and shakes violently like a wounded beast LOL.

Oh look, hello kitty card. Unfortunately we found out later that can only top by 100 RMB. Too much to waste, so keep it for now as a souvenir.

Have ticketing machine to check balance, reload card or buy MRT single trip token.

When we boarded at Laojie ~9+ or 10am Sunday morning.

Must say it's pretty comfy & ~7 RMB till end of the Line, didn't see any public misbehaving that's supposedly rampant in China. ahem .. :p

(Butt?)-pinching is pretty new and creepy i guess, can't think of where else a stranger wanna pinch on you. I think it's pickpockets mistranslated.

Station sign, sorry no idea what it says.

Finally 1 station away from our drop off point.

Here is how it looks like in the MRT now :P

Up the escalators.

There are bikes and cars offering rides - not for free obviously. Car dude asking for 10RMB for ride to temple. It's a great weather for a walk yo, so it's a negative sir.

Again, from station turn right & keep walking till this guy. Follow him up.

Pretty quiet place at the Western side end of Shenzhen.

Same on the road.

Some shades along the way. Btw, its not that stroller friendly. See the tiles condition and also staircase if you decide to take up the challenge with a stroller & baby on tow. A chinese family did this while we are here. Respect hehe.

View from the staircase.

Keep moving forward

You will see a containers storage area on your right.

The sign board, you probably won't miss it unless you didn't go up the staircase earlier.

Far shot.

Near shot.

Finally the front gate of the temple.

There is admission fee to enter. Pretty rare for temples actually from my experience. Can't imagine what people will say if Penang starts imposing fees to enter the Kek Lok Si temple :S

Very serene scene greets you on the entrance walkway inside.

Very simple booth.

Back of the tix.

Front.

Lookout from main temple

Very well kept temple. I guess the funds raised are well utilized.

Bell shaped incense hall i guess.

Giant bronze incense holder outside.

Not too sure what this is.

Dragon carving on pillar

Few steps back, one more shot at the view.

Guardian lion statues, 2 on the front of main gate of temple.

2 watch tower type building in front. One with a ram gong, another with a different type of gong.

Sorry, i'm really n00b when it comes to Buddhist things, although i'm a Buddhist bordering to free-thinker range.

There is a 3-4 story building beside with some statues and not much inside. Some of the rooms are locked even. If time is limited, just skip this and the stairs climbing up and down.

Shot from this building opposite.

Kind of like this 3-D drawing. There is a mini museum inside the temple with this drawing.

Really mini one.

This the vertical view of the pool you see on previous pic.

A wishing tree beside the temple area.

??

So many reinforcement done to support it. Must be quite old i think.

In same area as wishing tree.

Some carving arts to appreciate. Dragon & phoenix symbol.

This is along the way out. Not sure if it's done on purpose.

Back gate is also quite grand.

Hmm..not too sure, a lion guard?

Ok, this concludes the trip here.

Allocate about 1.5 hour if you are visiting leisurely. It's a temple anyway, drop by pray or pay respect & admire it's serenity & beauty. We are ready for our next destination now.

Cotton tree outside temple area.
