The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) had also come out with a statement denying claims that specific places around the city were being targeted by terrorist groups.
PDRM corporate communications chief Datin Asmawati Ahmad said the statement given by the IGP last Thursday was only to assure that the authorities were beefing up security around tourist hot spots in the city.
“The increase in the number of of police personnel is also to assure the public that PDRM is always prepared for any possibilities,” she said, advising people not to easily believe information which was not officially released by national security agencies. - Therakyatpost
