Last time change SIM only need backup contacts. Now if we want to change SIM card, need to think about Whatsapp account, since whatsapp account is tied to our phone number.
Work, family, social circles and whatnot groups mostly use whatsapp , at least in Bolehland.
This occurs when ahemm..we forgot to top-up pre-paid phone or didn't pay up phone bill and resulted in our phone number getting terminated. Or if we simply want to switch to a new numbers.
In many cases, the terminated number will be recycled to new users.
Conclusion:
a) Can continue use as normal. But if need validate via SMS or SIM number then we can't do since the number is already terminated.
b) Whatsapp allows user to change current account to new number - take note to be able to call or SMS using the new number, else you can't validate the switch.
c) Backup the chat history if you like & do step (b) if changing to new device. (hmm...if you LIKE to clutter up your new device storage with old chat history).
