What's up with Telcos in Malaysia today?

In short, Maxis don't offer special privilege , rate or even decent customer service to loyal customers (i'm talking bout users sticking with Maxis for >5years) despite their much more expensive packages, this going to tick off many loyal users with so many good packages from rival telcos updated so frequently. Loyalty program is only taking action once a user starts porting to other provider.

Read the rants here.
and here.
and here, an article on malaysianwireless.

See what I concluded on my last post paid comparison & prepaid plan comparison post?

Everywhere loyal Maxis users >5 to 10 years saying they gonna port to others. Not really sure why Maxis do not address these complains. People WILL port out due to price differences alone.

This is especially true as i see so many comment in lowyat and facebook circles complaining & saying they will port out soon. Why pay RM130+ for 3GB unlimited when you can get better package at less than RM100??

If you are still reading this, there are better postpaid plans from Celcom, Digi or U Mobile.
Celcom’s First Gold plan is priced at RM80/month with Unlimited Calls & SMS, 5+5GB data. Details here.
Digi has a new postpaid plan with 7GB data (roll over data to the next month), Unlimited Calls at RM78/month. Details here.
U Mobile’s Hero P70 postpaid plan comes with 15GB data, Unlimited Call at RM70/month. Details here. (source)

Maxis's response is nothing remarkable as well...poor PR skills?

So kedekut to give some extra example data, add 1 extra GB or some special features OR lower down package price a little etc? Apparently the answer is yes.

On a different topic, another interesting bashing party going on between broadband providers TIMEs and TM during April's fool day. I would say let the competition begin and monopoly ends. We pay min RM78 per month for a crappy 1Mbps plan that always run on lesser speed that's why.
