Dong Men Pedestrian street @ Shenzhen

The trademark place of Shenzhen town, it's where people go out for shop, eat and people seeing at night. Other places in Shenzhen ~10mins walk from here are pretty much dead quiet (or we are at the wrong side of town haha).

GPS location: 22.5464441,114.1170057

This place is hard to miss. At least the surface main shopping alleys is..

You can hop right into Dongmen Pedestrian St at Laojie station exit A i think, fret not MRT stations boards will give you clear enough direction on which exit to go for Dongmen Pedestrian St. there is no need to remember the exit you need to use.

Or you can walk over from Luohu station. We came from here since Holiday Inn express we stayed at is located nearer to Luohu. Went back to drop our stuff get a light shower and head over. It's only ~5-8min walk from here.

Suddenly it's more crowded on the streets now.

Laojie shoe shop.

Hyatt hotel & Space 123 also has another MRT exit to other side of Dongmen, where ZTL hotel is located.

A little further you will find the intersection with Laojie MRT exit smack in it's middle.

Many branded shopping you can find here.

Probably entrance of Pedestrian St.

Nothing downstairs

Same here, nothing downstairs. If you are street food hunting it get's frustrating.
We stopped here on first night..can't find much food.

Wondering where all the food are ya? It's hidden indoor a building called Dong Men Ting.

GPS location: 22.5449173,114.1168196

If you are coming from Space 123 side towards Dong Men, turn right after Space 123 where there is a corner snack shop with a loudspeaker recording on. Walk down this small alley ~5-7 min cross a small junction keep straight and keep walking. Watch out on your left side for this "东门町广场" , or something similar haha if you don't read mandarin, it's your cue to hop in. Enter and you will find the food stalls lined on your left and right amidst some indoor shoplots.

For more details: read foursquare link here.

Chang sha Stinky Tofu -small for 10 RMB

Pork and Chicken on sticks. Not really that good as kebabs. 2x for 10 RMB

Pan fried octopus - 10RMB for 3 sticks here.

Here is how it looks like indoor. Pretty neat eh.

The chicken or pork stick stall. Fascinating way to grill haha.

Take note things closes down at 10pm. Quite a letdown cause the night is still young yo.

Fried dumplings. Taste just average, nothing special. 10RMB per serving.

Takoyaki, sausages etc on sale.

This the stinky tofu stall. But can't smell the stink here, else they had to be outdoor i guess :)

Night view from across Space123

ZTL hotel is right smack in the middle of DongMen. Can consider this place for stay, looks new from website at least and price lower than Holiday Inn Express which is like 15 min walk away from Pedestrian St.

The manhole cover conquest continues..ShenZhen checked :)
Mate 8 doing pretty well at night too.

On surface DongMen St, we bought the cream topped tea here. Buy 1 free 1, damage this time is 14RMB

Menu of drinks with english description.

Our drink yo. good enough thirst quencher.

Milk tea/fruit tea is serious business here. Every row of shops in Dong Men will have at least 1 stall of this type or another GongCha. So always watch out for buy 1 free 1. Or buy 1 , 50% on second order. Just don't be shy to ask i guess.

Next on surface street stall stop, Zhengxin chicken steak. Not so much difference from Uncle Bob back in M-land. All originates from Taiwan i guess. But this one has no bones. All love for the hassle free meal hehe. 12 RMB for one piece that's fried on spot for ya.

Surprise surprise , order comes with chinese hawthorn (sancha) drink.

Basically gobbled up this steaming hot treat.

Some walk around here.

Just for pictures.

Our stop for Dalian Squid - 5 sticks for 10RMB.

Huge long sticks, little squids. Go for the indoor ones, their 3x stick has much bigger squid.

That concludes our Dong Men visit. Didn't buy other things since we can't know for sure whether it's genuine products hahaha. Just walk walk see see.
