2016 Malaysia Top Mobile prepaid plans - compare for cheapest deal [MAR16]

This data takes a tremendous amount of time to put down. The only reliable sources i can get is directly from each telco's site & each in their own interface with fancy offerings.

Prepaid comes in mind when, you are using it for short period (e.g. tourist) or really a minimalist, light user that don't need mobile data. We have free wifi at home , at cafes & in our office where we spent most of our time. Don't need to call, just want to receive. So it's still relevant, not that obsolete yet if you plan to be frugal on your mobile bills- have to take back what I mentioned on my last post related to this topic :P

Below is a table focused on prepaid reload validity and how much we need to top. Worthy of mention is the 365 validity offer from some service providers and I suspect some of them are time limited only. At least now it's accurate except for Celcom Xpax where i fail to find it's offer about 365 validity on the official site at the moment.

Update: Digi 365 costs RM48 now, with min RM50 reload as condition. That makes it RM53 for Digi calculation. Digi no more 90 days grace period, already reduced to 75 days as of 13/April after calling to check with customer service -wait & reload goes up to RM25 (5*RM5) per year, that's the lowest you can go now.

I take starter pack price out of equation since it will make comparison more messy. Remember, I'm looking at this from a frugality point of view. Pay as little as you can, hook up to free wifis for communication & able to receive urgent phone calls. (make urgent calls using office phone or go wild on calls via wifi).

The only downside here is when you need to make urgent calls outside of wifi coverage area, but this can be mitigated by planing ahead - reload small amount if you know you are heading out & have high chances need to make calls. So don't factor in call rates & data plan as well.

Summary:
Go for 365 validity as it's in general cheaper & less hassle to keep track of grace period & reload. If you are active user might as well go for post paid plans as they are getting cheaper nowadays. There are tons of other prepaid vendors with partnership to the main service providers Celcom, Digi & Maxis but for simplicity sake go for the main vendors for easy reload and service center availability.

So what's your pick of cheap prepaid plan??
