source Palace Hotel @ Hanoi
This family trip becomes our yearly tradition since few years back. Not bad since everyone have time off only during this festive season, the only downside is more expensive package closing to RM4K and not much shopping available since Vietnam is also celebrating their new year festival too. Below is the general outline of the itinerary:
a) Day1 - depart from Bkt. Mertajam at midnight on bus to KLIA.
b) Day2 - reached KLIA ~4am+ , flight to Hanoi takes ~2 hour +
- reached and proceed to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda
- visited the 'whitehouse' of Hanoi, 'dataran Merdeka' of Hanoi & the one beam pagoda
- lunch @ Anh Hoa & then check-in to Palace Hotel & dinner just beside (post below)
c) Day3 - after breakfast, depart for the jetty ~3hours away for Huong Hai 2D1N cruise package.
- many activities arranged - relaxing @ beach , dinner, spring roll making,
d) Day4 - morning boat ride around fishing village with cruise,
e) Day5 - 2 hours ride out for Trang An boat ride,Back to Hanoi for 5star hotel buffet dinner
f) Day6 - transfer to airport for early morning flight home

I do have some complains on the package price vs perks since we are using AirAsia flights.
a) There should be reduction in price per pax since usually we paid for normal flights price
b) There is ambiguity in charging 1/2 pax price for baby <3 years old.
c) It's called a 6D4N package...come on la...don't try to fool people with such package tag.
Other than that, i guess spending some fun time with family is probably the best thing you can get at the moment, or while it still happens =)
